Techniques - This is the stuff that people call
"legitimate marketing" and is never considered spamming the

Gray Hat Techniques
- These techniques begin to cross over the
line of "traditional World Wide Web Marketing and
SEO". Any of them alone are really white hat but

Engines. Why? Because
they work! Because they let you manipulate
Google, Yahoo, etc and push your rankings higher and they
don't like that. They want you to be passive and just
"write content for humans", if that is all you are doing my
question is, how is that working out for you?
Black Hat Techniques -
Now some people proudly state they "never do any Black Hat
Techniques". The truth about those people is
they are either full of beans or they are getting their
butts kicked. If you think Black Hat means things like
Link Farms, Hidden Text or Key Word Stuffing then you don't
know Black Hat at all. Black Hat is not spamming
people's email either, that is a total waste of time.
Black Hat is many time simply automation and/or leveraging
of Gray and White Hat techniques.
